SCENE 01 / MULTI CAMERA SETUPS

Multi-Camera Setups

Professional live event coverage and multi-camera production across Italy.

Scroll

Multi-camera setups deploy two or more cameras simultaneously to capture comprehensive coverage of scenes, events, or performances. From Sanremo Festival broadcasts to concerts at Milan's San Siro and live events at Cinecittà Studios, this approach maximizes shooting efficiency, preserves performance continuity, and provides editors with multiple angles from each take.

We coordinate multi-camera configurations with matched camera bodies, synchronized settings, and integrated monitoring systems across Rome, Milan, Naples, and Florence. Our team works alongside the broadcast infrastructure connected to Cinecittà — Europe's largest studio with its newly expanded LED wall — leveraging Italy's deep RAI broadcast tradition and live music heritage.

Italian multi-cam from Sanremo to Serie A

Here is how this works in practice. Multi-camera production in Italy plugs directly into the country's broadcast core. Rai, Mediaset, Sky Italia and La7 operate one of Europe's deepest live-event ecosystems, with the Festival di Sanremo at the Teatro Ariston, Eurovision-Italy at the PalaOlimpico in Turin, the Sanremo Giovani showcases, the David di Donatello ceremony at Cinecittà and Serie A and Champions League broadcasts from San Siro, the Stadio Olimpico and the Allianz Stadium in Turin anchoring the calendar each year.

Here is the short of it. Our crew deploys matched cinema and broadcast bodies — Sony PXW-FX9, FX6 and HDC system cameras plus ARRI Amira and RED Komodo for cinema looks — across these venues plus Cinecittà Studios, Milan Fashion Week runways at Palazzo Reale and the Triennale, Florence's Pitti shows at the Fortezza da Basso, the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome and concerts at the Arena di Verona, the Roman amphitheatres of Pompeii and Taormina, and the Lucca Summer Festival — anywhere from three cameras up to twelve-plus configurations spanning jibs, Steadicam, hard cameras, robotic Polecam positions, RF roving units and POV inserts, all synchronised to a single house clock with redundant timecode, Tally and intercom infrastructure.

Here is the breakdown. Production runs through skilled Italian directors and vision mixers, many trained inside Rai's Roma Saxa Rubra and Mediaset's Cologno Monzese facilities, working out of OB vans drawn from the Rai-anchored fleet — one of the largest in Europe — with Sony, Grass Valley or Ross vision-mixing desks, multi-channel Calrec audio, character generator graphics, EVS replay and recording backup on board.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Our team delivers clean switched programme feeds plus ISO recordings for every camera, satellite or fibre uplink to TV networks and streaming CDNs, IMAG to in-venue screens at the Stadio Olimpico, the San Siro or the Arena di Verona, and live multi-language feeds when global rights audiences need Italian, English and other commentary on separate tracks.

Here is how the picture comes together. Schedules are built around Rai, Mediaset, Sky and EBU broadcast specs, and our team sets up the MiC and Italian Film Commission paperwork when productions claim the forty-per-cent global tax credit under the Cinema Italian Plan on multi-camera capture for branded content, scripted concert films, sports rights bundles and live broadcast packages, with IAP self-rules observed across any branded segments and CCNL Cinema Audiovisivo crew agreements plus ENPALS and INAIL coverage confirmed before every stage day.

FAQ

Live Production Expertise

How many cameras can you deploy?

We regularly operate setups from 3 to 12+ cameras depending on event scale. For major concerts at Stadio San Siro or events at Cinecittà's Studio 22, we can deploy extensive camera packages including specialty positions like jibs, roving cameras, and POV units.

Do you provide live switching and direction?

Yes, our multi-camera packages include experienced vision mixers and directors who switch between cameras in real-time, creating a polished live edit. We can deliver a switched program feed, ISO recordings, or both.

Can you live stream our event?

Yes, we provide complete live streaming services including encoding, CDN delivery, and platform management for YouTube, Facebook, Vimeo, or custom platforms. We can also provide satellite uplink for broadcast.

What about IMAG for live audiences?

We provide IMAG (Image Magnification) services for concerts and events, feeding live camera coverage to venue screens so audiences can see close-ups of performers and speakers.

Do you have OB van facilities?

We work with professional OB (Outside Broadcast) vans equipped with switching desks, monitoring, audio mixing, and all necessary infrastructure. Italy's RAI-anchored broadcast sector operates one of Europe's largest OB van fleets.

How far in advance should we book?

For major events, we recommend booking 4-6 weeks ahead to ensure equipment availability and proper planning. Smaller multi-camera shoots can often be arranged with 1-2 weeks notice.

Productions in Italy that need this often pair it with Live Streaming, Virtual Reality Filming, and Volumetric Capture for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Competition & Reality Show Production and Multi-Camera Shoots.
