On Location

Italian Footage, Finished to Brief

Post-production for Italy-shot material brings its own demands: rich, saturated Mediterranean colour palettes, multilingual dialogue tracks, and location audio caught in some of Europe's trickiest acoustic spaces — from stone-walled churches in Florence and the open-air markets of Bologna to the ancient piazzas of Palermo and Lecce. Our post team turns raw footage into polished, broadcast-ready content with the precision and creative confidence each project needs. We work to tight global delivery schedules and site-specific tech specs across film, television, and digital formats.

Roman editors and colourists on calibrated, reference-grade displays — every spec from broadcast master to theatrical DCP.

Our editing service takes footage from the first sync through Rough Cut to Final Cut, with editors versed in Narrative and Documentary styles as well as Multi-cam sync workflows. Our colorists handle color correction and grading, and they know how Italian light shifts across seasons and how to honour that quality in the grade. We edit interviews and dialogue with care for pacing and authenticity, so Italian-language and multilingual shoots speak clearly to each target audience on every platform.

FAQs

Post-Production FAQs

Answers about timelines, deliverables, and how we handle your post-production needs.

What's included in post-production services?

The process runs from dailies all the way to final delivery. We cut offline in Avid or Premiere, then move to online conform for VFX integration. DaVinci color sessions follow, along with Pro Tools sound editorial, plus Foley and ADR when the project needs them. The job ends with a final mix on a calibrated stage. Our team handles every tech handoff, so you never manage separate vendors. Deliverables come QC'd to spec — whether that is a Netflix IMF, an Italy Télévisions broadcast master, or encrypted DCPs for theatrical.

How long does post-production typically take?

Commercials run 2-3 weeks from offline lock through final delivery. Documentaries take eight to twelve weeks, since the timeline depends on how much archive clearance and interview transcription the cut needs. Projects with heavy visual effects need 16–24 weeks, while dialogue-driven work moves faster. We have done emergency turnarounds when festival deadlines loom, but those cost more and burn people out. It is better to build realistic schedules from the start.

Do you handle international deliverables?

Yes, every day. Each streaming platform has its own tech specs: Netflix wants IMF packages with set audio channel layouts, Amazon runs its own quality review, and Apple TV+ needs Dolby Vision support. We stay current on all of them. For broadcast, we deliver to the EBU R128 loudness standards that Italian and European channels require. We also test Cinema DCPs on theater servers before we ship them.

Can you match existing looks or brand guidelines?

Our colorists work from LUTs, CDLs, and reference stills to match seasons, hold brand consistency, and recreate a director's reference look. Our suites run calibrated monitors, so you view your OK'd content in true theater conditions. For series work, we build show LUTs that stay steady across episodes and seasons.

What formats can you work with?

We take all the current ones: ARRIRAW, RED R3D, Sony Venice X-OCN, Blackmagic RAW, and ProRes in every flavor. We also handle legacy formats when archive material enters the cut — digibeta, HDCAM SR, even film scans. The Rome facilities we work with keep both modern gear and the older decks, ready for when you need them.
