Expert Crews

Our team includes bilingual DPs, gaffers, and sound mixers based in Rome, Milan, and Florence. We also keep local experts on hand for shoots in the mountains, on the coast, and in the countryside.

On-Set Efficiency

Our first ADs and line producers keep call times tight on Italian shoots, since they must follow union rules and clear any problem that stalls the work.

On Location

On-Set Production Across Italy

Italy's production scene stretches from the baroque streets of Palermo to the lakeside villas of Como, from the Amalfi Coast cliffs to the industrial canals of Turin. Our crews work across all of these settings with the technical depth that demanding shoots need. We supply camera packages, lighting rigs, sound departments, and specialty units tuned to each location's own challenges — whether that means taming ambient light in a Venice piazza at dawn or handling crowd logistics on a Naples street shoot.

Crews sized to the project, not a template — lean enough to move through Venice alleys, technical enough for Cinecittà stages.

Camera and Cinematography sits at the heart of everything we put on screen, with our DPs and camera ops skilled across genres and formats. For larger shoots, our Multi-Camera Shoots team handles everything from panel formats to live performance coverage. Steadicam and Gimbal operators deliver fluid, kinetic motion through tight interiors and open landscapes alike. Our Gaffer and Lighting Team wraps each scene in controlled, purposeful light, drawing on a deep stock of HMI, LED, and tungsten units to match any look your production brings to Italy.

FAQs

Production FAQs

Common questions about our production services, crew availability, and equipment support.

What crew sizes can you provide for productions in Italy?

We handle projects that range from two-person documentary units to 150-person feature crews. A typical commercial shoot runs 15 to 30 staff: a DP and camera team, a gaffer with two electrics, a key grip with a swing, a sound mixer and boom op, plus extra hands from the art department and HMU. We've crewed full Italian units for Netflix series and run single-day corporate interviews with just a shooter and audio. The network scales to fit.

How quickly can you mobilize a crew in Italy?

Rome-based crew can often mobilize within 24–48 hours for urgent jobs, and we've pulled together same-day news crews when stories break. Regional shoots need more runway, so figure 5–7 days minimum for locations outside major cities. The real limit is usually gear from rental houses, not crew. If you plan ahead, 2–3 weeks gives us time to build the right team rather than just the ready one.

Do your crews speak English?

Our department heads — DPs, gaffers, sound mixers, and 1st ADs — speak fluent English and have worked on shoots abroad, which is a baseline need across our network. Grips, electrics, and PAs vary, but we always make sure someone on each team can translate. For fully Italian-speaking shoots, we field native crews in every department.

Can you provide equipment along with crew?

We work with TSF, Panavision Rome, RVZ, and other Italian rental houses every day. Most gear packages come with the crew who run them: the gaffer brings the lighting they prefer, and the DP picks the camera gear. For global shoots that bring their own kit, we handle customs and carnet records. All gear arrives tested and prepped, and we never send it to set without a proper checkout.

How do Italian crew rates compare to other countries?

Italian rates are competitive within Europe. Social charges add to gross wages, and we fold these into all-in quotes so there are no surprises. On longer shoots, local film incentives can offset qualifying Italian spend.
