Scene 03 — The Case for Venice

Scene 04 — Logistics
Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) — 13km / 30-60 min
Treviso Airport (TSF) — 40km / 70 min
ferry
Vaporetti (water buses) are Venice's public transit. Lines 1 and 2 serve Grand Canal. Actv operates the network.
Crew tip: Line 1 is slow but scenic - all stops. Line 2 is express. Water taxis expensive but efficient for equipment.
taxi
Water taxis are motorboats - expensive but door-to-door. Essential for equipment transport. Book in advance.
Crew tip: Consorzio Motoscafi (+39 041 522 2303) is reliable. Budget €100+ per trip. Night rates higher.
rideshare
No cars in Venice. All transport is by boat or on foot. Water taxis are the closest equivalent.
No cars in Venice proper. Park at Piazzale Roma (ASM Venezia) or Tronchetto island. Very expensive (€25-40/day). Then boat or walk.
Equipment unloads at Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto, then transfers to boats. Production boats can moor at designated pontoons with permits. Venice Film Commission assists with logistics.
Venice is walking + boats only. San Marco to Rialto: 15 min walk. Vaporetto Line 1 full Grand Canal: 45 min. Venice to Burano: 45 min vaporetto. Venice to Lido: 15 min. Always add buffer time - getting lost in Venice is inevitable and part of the experience.
