Cable cam systems hang cinema and broadcast cameras on motorised carriages that ride along tensioned wire spans. Italian venues now use the technique as a regular fixture for stadium broadcast, concert coverage and feature work. There, shoots like Romulus and the Diavoli series use cable cam for the close-in aerial movement that drones and helicopters cannot match. Outdoor brand events across Milan Fashion Week, the Venice Film Festival and the Salone del Mobile add a steady stream of cable-cam work for commercial clients. Our operators know both Rai broadcast standards and the cinematic motion that feature units expect.

The Italian cable-cam pool now reaches further. It includes compact rigs that run on factory lines for Pirelli, Ferrari and Lamborghini brand films, plus vertical setups for the cliff-face shots that travel and tourism clients order along the Amalfi Coast.

Each fitting starts with a site survey and a structural check for anchor points. Our rigging crews then handle the SOA-certified scaffold work, the backup safety cabling and the fail-safe braking systems. Italian event rules and CCNL Cinema Audiovisivo safety standards require all of it. Permit work runs through the city authorities for outdoor venues, namely Roma Capitale, Milano Comune and Venezia Comune. We also clear the Soprintendenza when shoots touch protected sites, and we prepare INAIL safety forms and ENPALS contributor planning at the same time for unionised crew.

Stadium and arena work also needs planning with the Lega Serie A, the venue operator and the local Questura where seating sits beneath the cable run. We secure crowd-overflight insurance through the Italian broadcast brokers. Operators run cinema cameras such as the ARRI Alexa Mini LF and RED V-Raptor on stabilised heads, with live feeds for broadcast and wireless tracking for feature work. The long-throw lens packages come from Roman rental houses tied to Cinecittà. Productions on the forty per cent Italian Tax Credit route their eligible rigging and operator spend through DGCA accounting alongside delivery, and our coordinators keep the audit records right up to final sign-off.
