Online Conform & QC

Online conform is the tech assembly stage of post. An Italian production's offline edit is rebuilt from full-resolution camera negatives, each effect is rendered at master quality, and the timeline is checked frame-by-frame against the TV network or site spec sheet. Our online team works at Cinecittà DI, Lumiq Studios, EM srl Roma, FrameByFrame, and Edi Effetti Digitali Italiani, chosen to fit the workflow's resolution, colour-management needs, and turnaround window.

We take in the offline XML or AAF along with the source camera media. That media might be ARRIRAW from a Cinque Terre shoot, RED R3D from a Roman commercial, or ProRes from a multi-camera Rai entertainment block. We match it back to the source files and rebuild the timeline at delivery resolution, keeping every edit decision the cutting room signed off on.

QC runs against the published specs of each target. That list covers Rai Cinema, Mediaset, Sky Italia, La7, Netflix Italy, Amazon Prime Video, and Apple TV+, plus global TV networks when content is cross-licensed. Automated Tektronix, Interra Baton, and Venera Pulsar tools check video levels, EBU R128 loudness, ITU-R BT.2020 gamut, AS-11 and Italian DPP rules, safe-area limits, and full metadata. A senior operator then plays the full master back-to-back against the OK'd offline. Detailed reports ship with each package, and frame-specific timecodes flag any concern for fast rework. We re-check the fixed master before delivery, so the production clears broadcast tech sign-off on the first pass and skips costly rejection notes.

Our conform rooms run on a calibrated reference chain. We match each suite to the project's working resolution, whether the master targets 2K, UHD, or a 4K theatrical pass. Reference monitors are profiled against Rec.709 and Rec.2020 targets before each session. We render effects, titles, and VFX shots at native master quality, never as proxies. This keeps the finished file true to the offline edit the cutting room signed off, frame for frame.

Turnaround is planned around your delivery dates, not ours. We map the conform, QC, and fix passes into a clear schedule, then flag any media gaps early so missing shots never stall the master. For tight broadcast slots, our team runs extended hours and parallel QC stations. We share progress reports at each stage, so the production always knows where the master sits before its air date.

We treat your media as protected from the first ingest. Source files are checked against MD5 or xxHash signatures on arrival. We hold them on access-controlled storage and log every operator who touches the project. Working masters sit on redundant arrays. When the conform is approved, we wrap deliverables in MXF or ProRes containers to the network spec. We then archive the project files, so re-versions and fixes can be pulled cleanly later.
