Vittorio Storaro carries three Academy Awards across Apocalypse Now, Reds, and The Last Emperor and still mentors a generation of Roman DPs through CSC and the AIC. Luca Bigazzi has shot the entire Sorrentino canon — Il Divo, The Great Beauty, Youth, The Young Pope, The Hand of God — and remains the defining Italian visual voice of the last two decades.

Here is the short of it. Daria D'Antonio AIC stepped up to shoot The Hand of God and is now the senior DP on Sorrentino's continuing output. Mauro Fiore ASC took the Avatar Oscar back to Hollywood after Italian and CSC training. Daniele Ciprì, Italo Petriccione, Arnaldo Catinari, and Pasquale Mari fill the rest of the AIC roster behind the David di Donatello and Nastri d'Argento winners of the last fifteen years. The senior DPs in our Italy network either trained alongside these names or moved through the same CSC and AIC-affiliated camera-assistant pipeline. Mid-tier DPs carry credits across Rai, Mediaset, Sky Italia, and the global commercial accounts shot through Milan's Brera and Tortona zones.

Here is the breakdown. Matching is brief-driven and bilateral. We open every conversation with reference material, format, schedule, and budget envelope under the MiC 40% Italian Cinema Plan where applicable, then return a curated shortlist of three to five DPs whose reels show the specific tonal range your project needs — high-contrast night exterior in Rome's centro storico, soft natural-light interiors in a Sicilian baroque palazzo, observational documentary across the Dolomites or the Apulian coast, or stylised product cinematography on a Cinecittà soundstage.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Our DPs work fluently across ARRI Alexa 35, Mini LF, Sony Venice 2, Burano, and RED V-Raptor systems rented through Panalight, Movie People, and Filmmaster, and they bring their own working relationships with key gaffers, grip teams, and 1st ACs so the camera department arrives pre-composed. Owner-operator DPs are ready where budget favours a packaged camera kit. AIC standing, CSC training, and English working ability are verified before booking, and all contracts run under CCNL Cinema Audiovisivo.
