Italian production fleets have to thread two competing constraints — the narrow, permit-restricted streetscapes of Centro Storico in Rome, Florence and Venice's vehicle-accessible mainland, and the long-distance transits across the autostrada network that carry units between Cinecittà, Milan Lambrate, Lumiq Turin, the Bologna hub and the southern stages in Naples. Our fleet sources from Sirio Service, Stop-Service and Movie People, covering camera trucks, grip and lighting trucks, combination vehicles, honey wagons, hair and makeup trailers, star wagons and full production office trailers.

Here is the short of it. Sizing runs from compact one-tonne vans engineered for ZTL-mandated low-emission access through articulated rigs for feature-scale base camps at Cinecittà or on the perimeter of a Mediaset stage build, each vehicle film-spec configured with shelving, lift gates and tie-down systems.

Here is the breakdown. Logistics start with parking and ZTL authorisation. We set up permits with Comune di Roma, Milano and Firenze, file Schengen and ATA carnets for productions crossing in from Switzerland or France, and brief Italian transport captains on access routes around the GRA, the A1 Autostrada del Sole and the mountain passes feeding Dolomites and Apennine locations.

Here is what that looks like on the ground. Italian drivers with feature experience handle overnight repositioning when the call sheet demands it, our coordinator stays on call to swap vehicles or push a process trailer to set on short notice, and the same fleet supports island work via ferry transport from Civitavecchia and Naples for Sardinia and Sicily shoots. Toll handling on the autostrade network is invoiced cleanly back to production along with fuel receipts for closeout.
