Transportation Coordinators

Transport planning in Italy is shaped by three forces: a national autostrada network, dense historic-centre access limits, and an island geography that pulls shoots onto ferries. The coordinators on our roster handle all three with equal ease.

They route convoys across the A1 Autostrada del Sole between Milan, Florence, Rome and Naples. The team also works the A4 corridor through Torino, Milano, Verona and Venezia, the A14 Adriatica down the eastern coast toward Bari and Lecce, and the A22 Brennero corridor that brings German-plated gear trucks down through Bolzano and Trento. The A19 carries them across the Sicilian interior between Palermo and Catania. At the same time they manage the GRA loop around Rome, the Tangenziale around Milano, and ZTL Centro Storico permits in central Rome, Florence, Milano, Bologna, Napoli and Verona.

Their fleet ties span Italian production-car vendors such as Sirio and Stop-Service. The same network covers passenger vans, luxury cars for principal cast, camera and grip trucks, wardrobe cars, honeywagons, mobile makeup trailers, power packs trucks and ULEZ-compliant city cars. Every vehicle comes from operators that meet Italian road, ZTL, Area C, Crit'Air-equivalent low-emission zone and Italian Codice della Strada rules across the full shoot schedules.

On the ground, our Italian transport coordinators handle daily call-time pickups from cast hotels in central Rome, Milan, Venice and the regional shooting bases. They set up basecamp staging at sites that range from the centro storico of Rome to the cliffs of the Amalfi Coast, the trulli of Alberobello, the Sassi of Matera and the volcanic flanks of Etna in Sicilia. The team secures parking permits with comuni and municipi offices across Italy and arranges ATA carnet support for incoming foreign-plated production cars and gear containers. They also run Schengen-area cross-border moves when shoots sweep between Italy, France, Switzerland and Austria during principal photography.

They book Tirrenia, GNV, Moby and Grimaldi ferries from Civitavecchia and Napoli to Sardegna and Sicilia, and handle the embark and disembark steps at Olbia, Cagliari, Palermo and Messina. The team also manages helicopter shuttles for VIP transfers to Costa Smeralda and the Amalfi Coast. For long shoot days that squeeze the schedule, they book Trenitalia Frecciarossa and Italo high-speed services for crew moves between Milano Centrale, Roma Termini, Firenze SMN and Napoli Centrale. We match coordinators by fleet scale, geographic spread, and the depth of the bilingual driver pool each Italian production needs across cast cars, gear trucks and company-move convoys.
