Casting Directors
Pro casting in the home of neorealism, linking shoots with Italy's expressive acting talent.
A casting director finds and picks the actors who bring a script's characters to life. Italy holds one of the world's richest film traditions. Its acting craft runs from the neorealist classics of the postwar years to today's busy TV and streaming scene. Italian actors train at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, the Silvio d'Amico National Academy, and Rome's Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica. They bring a deep emotional range and screen presence shaped by decades of artistry.
We connect you with casting directors who have close ties across Italy's acting community. These run from Cinecittà veterans to the lively independent scene in Naples and Milan. Our network spans talent agencies in Rome, Milan, Florence, and southern Italy, with access to Italian Film Commission casting resources and actors skilled in global co-productions.

Why Us
Why Choose Our Casting Directors
01.
Local Talent Expertise
Our casting directors hold close ties with the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, the Silvio d'Amico Academy, and Italy's top talent agencies. We reach actors from a tradition that gave the world neorealism and still turns out globally praised talent.
02.
International Production Experience
Our casting directors have wide experience on global features filmed at Cinecittà, streaming series shot across Italy, and European co-productions. They know the needs of foreign shoots in one of the world's most popular filming spots.
03.
Local Knowledge
We hold deep ties to casting communities in Rome, Milan, Naples, Florence, and Sicily. Our team sets up auditions at Cinecittà Studios, Roma Lazio Film Commission-backed venues, and pro casting rooms across Italy's varied filming regions from Puglia to Sardinia.
04.
Bilingual Casting Capability
We specialize in Italian-English bilingual casting and source actors who perform fluently in both, with true regional accents from Roman to Sicilian. Italy's closeness to France and the DACH region also gives access to actors fluent in French, German, and Spanish.
On Location
Casting directors with deep roots in Italian acting tradition
Casting a production in Italy draws on one of cinema's deepest acting traditions. It runs from De Sica and Rossellini's neorealist street casting, through the Visconti–Fellini auteur era, to today's roster built around Paolo Sorrentino, Matteo Garrone, Alice Rohrwacher, Marco Bellocchio, Stefano Sollima, and Gabriele Mainetti.
Our casting directors include UCDA-recognized pros such as Beatrice Kruger, Sorrentino's go-to on The Great Beauty, Youth, The Young Pope, and The Hand of God. The roster also covers Annamaria Sambucco, Massimo Appolloni, Aldo Lampredi, and the Trastevere and Centro Storico casting houses that supply principal and supporting talent to Cattleya, Wildside, Indigo Film, Palomar, Lux Vide, and Pepito Produzioni shoots.
Principal pools draw on graduates of the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, the Silvio d'Amico National Academy, Rome's Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica, and the major drama schools in Milan and Naples. Talent agencies such as Movie People, ATA, Notorious Pictures, Personality, and Locuzioni sit in our submission network for both Italian theatrical features and David di Donatello-tier prestige series made for RAI Fiction, Sky Italia, Netflix, and Disney+ Italian originals. Each session is recorded for remote review.
Sessions run at pro casting rooms across Rome, Milan, Naples, Florence, Bologna, and Palermo. We add self-tape pipelines, live video auditions for remote directors, and full recording of in-person reads for callback review.
Bilingual Italian–English casting sits at the core of the practice. We shortlist actors with logged global credits and real regional accents, from Roman to Sicilian to Milanese to Neapolitan to Venetian and Tuscan. The search also reaches French, German, and Spanish-fluent actors for co-productions built under Italy's treaty network. The 1949 agreement with France stays active, alongside deals with the UK, Australia, China, Japan, and the Ibermedia members covering Spain, Portugal, and Latin America.
Background and crowd-scene casting flows through our AD network. Specialty extras — period-trained dancers, equestrians, sword-and-sandal stunt performers, hand-to-hand combat trained Roman-era supporting cast, and Risorgimento and fascist-era supporting cast — come through the long-standing rosters that supply Cinecittà, the Apulia Film Commission, the Sicily Film Commission, and the Sardegna Film Commission. We build Italian Tax Credit and ENPALS, SIAE, and CCNL Cinema Audiovisivo compliance into our contracting, so principal-cast spend qualifies cleanly under the 40% rebates through to David di Donatello, Nastri d'Argento, and Venice Film Festival delivery. Festival travel and press coverage are set up through the production legal team.

FAQ
Casting Expertise
What types of casting do you handle?
We offer full casting services, including principal roles (leads, supporting), day players, background artists, and specialty casting (stunts, dancers, musicians). Our casting directors have experience across features, television, commercials, and branded content.
Can you find English-speaking Italian actors?
Yes, our database holds many bilingual Italian actors fluent in English, with neutral or set regional accents. We also source actors fluent in French, German, and Spanish, and can work with agencies across Europe for global co-productions casting.
How do you handle auditions?
We offer flexible audition options. These include in-person sessions at pro casting venues in Rome, Milan, Naples, and other Italian cities, self-tape planning with quality control, and live video auditions for remote directors. All sessions can be recorded for review.
What about background and extras casting?
We keep databases of background artists across Italy and can source specific types, looks, and skills as needed. For large crowd scenes, we set up casting calls and manage extras on shoot days through our AD network.
How far in advance should we start casting?
For principal roles on features, start 8-12 weeks before shooting to leave time for submissions, auditions, callbacks, and deal-making. Supporting roles need 4-6 weeks. Background casting can be set up faster, mostly 2-3 weeks.
Do you handle talent contracts and negotiations?
Yes, our casting directors work with agents and managers on deal terms, making sure they fit your budget while meeting Italian industry standards. We also liaise with your production legal team to finalize contracts.
