Cinema camera packages prepped and delivered across Italy

Camera gear rental in Italy runs through a set group of partners. Panalight Rome and Milan is the leading ARRI and lighting house, and Cinecittà Rental sits on the campus itself. Lumiq Studios Turin covers Mole-adjacent feature work, while Bartolini Roma takes boutique drama. Reds Group handles broadcast and commercials, and Cargo Studios Bologna serves the central corridor. Our team books across those inventories to build the body, lens, support, and accessory stack a production really needs.

At the centre of the request list sit the ARRI Alexa 35, Mini LF, and Alexa Mini, the RED V-Raptor and Komodo, and the Sony Venice 2, FX9, and FX6 broadcast bodies. These pair with Cooke S4/i and S7/i sets, Zeiss Supreme and Master Primes, ARRI Signature Primes, and Angenieux Optimo zooms. Add to that the anamorphic glass that Italian Cinema Plan rebate features now favour. Each package gets logged prep at Panalight or Cinecittà Rental before delivery. That prep covers sensor cleaning, lens calibration, firmware logged, batteries conditioned, and media formatted to the DIT's workflow.

Global shoots land most of their gear through the Fiumicino, Malpensa, Linate, or Marco Polo cargo terminals. The same team that books the rental processes the ATA Carnet records through the Italian Chamber of Commerce and clears Italian customs. Road haulage then moves the consolidated shipments and the inter-city runs. Routes include Roma to Cinecittà same-day, Roma to Milano and Torino next-day, and timed transit to Napoli, Firenze, Bologna, and the Dolomite or coastal unit bases working under MiC 40% rebate schedules.

Camera technicians and DITs from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (CSC) cinematography track can be added to the booking. They handle prep support at Cinecittà or on-set help during a ZTL-locked Centro Storico night exterior. Emergency replacement and cross-rental from partner houses run through the same coordinator. That matters when an Alexa Mini LF goes down on day three of a Dolomites schedule.

Bodies and glass are only part of the package. We build out the movement and support rig the shot really asks for. ARRI Trinity and Artemis stabilizers, DJI Ronin heads, O'Connor and Sachtler fluid heads, dollies, track, and remote heads come from the same partner houses. Matte boxes, filters, wireless video, and focus control round out each kit. We match the support to the camera and the lens, so the operator gets a balanced rig ready to roll.

Booking ahead protects the kit a production wants. We advise locking standard packages two to four weeks out, and specialty glass four to six weeks out. Italy's busy summer window, when feature and series work peaks, tightens availability fast. We hold the dates across the partner network and keep emergency stock for late changes. That way a Tuscany or Lake Como schedule still gets its first-choice bodies and lenses.

FAQ

Camera Rental Expertise

What camera systems are available in Italy?

We source all major cinema camera systems. ARRI options cover the Alexa 35, Mini LF, and Alexa Mini. RED brings the V-Raptor, Komodo, and Gemini. Sony covers the Venice 2, FX9, and FX6. We also stock the Blackmagic URSA series and the Panavision DXL2 and Millennium cameras. Specialty cameras for high-speed, underwater, and aerial work are ready too.

How far in advance should I book camera equipment?

We suggest booking 2-4 weeks ahead for standard packages, and 4-6 weeks for specialized gear or busy periods (May-September). We also keep emergency stock on hand and can often meet last-minute requests through our rental network.

Do you provide camera technicians with rentals?

Yes, we can arrange qualified camera technicians, DITs, and prep technicians to go with your rental. They cover on-set support, daily camera prep, data management, and troubleshooting across your production.

How do you handle equipment for international productions?

We handle all logistics for global shoots. This work spans ATA Carnet processing, customs records, and delivery planning. Our team takes care of the paperwork, so your gear clears smoothly into Italy.

What's included in camera prep?

Full camera prep covers sensor cleaning, lens calibration, and function tests on every part. It also includes firmware updates, battery conditioning, and cable and connector checks. We provide detailed reports and confirm that everything is production-ready.

Can you source specialty or vintage lenses?

Yes, we source specialty glass. That covers anamorphic lenses (Panavision, Cooke, ARRI), vintage rehoused lenses, and unique character glass. We work with specialty rental houses across Europe to find the exact look you want.

Productions in Italy that need this often pair it with Camera Support Systems, Cinema Lens Kits, and Lens Filters for full coverage. Most projects also draw on Grip Equipment and Audio Equipment Rental.
