Feature Film Production

Italy is one of the founding cinema cultures. It is home to Cinecittà, Italian neorealism, Fellini, Visconti, Antonioni and Leone. A new wave of auteurs carries it on, with Sorrentino, Garrone, Rohrwacher, Guadagnino and Moretti. The country's production base has backed everything from Ben-Hur and La Dolce Vita to Call Me By Your Name, The Hand of God and Ripley.

We provide full production support for studio-backed and independent features shooting in Italy. Our crews draw on department heads from the Cinecittà community in Rome and the Lumiq Studios site in Turin. We also tap local crew bases built through the Italian Film Commissions network. Our team runs script breakdown through wrap, with crew, camera and lighting rentals from major Italian houses. Location work spans Rome's EUR district, Tuscany hill towns, the Sicilian baroque, Apulia, the Amalfi Coast and the alpine north.

The Italian MiC tax credit gives a 40 percent rebate on eligible Italian spend. It runs under the Italian Cinema Plan for global shoots. We guide producers through the rules, the filing and the reporting with the Ministero della Cultura. Co-productions under bilateral treaties and Eurimages are run end to end. That work covers partner intros to Italian producers, treaty records, and the local admin that official co-production status needs. Crew scales from twenty-person indie units up to 150-plus department major studio shoots. Full planning runs through Italian guilds, ANICA, AGICI and the CCNL Cinema Audiovisivo labour frameworks.

Location access reaches Renaissance palazzi, Baroque churches, and ancient Roman ruins under Soprintendenza permits. It also opens Lake Como villas, the Dolomites and Cinecittà's standing sets. Post-production runs through Italian houses that deliver DCP, streaming and broadcast specs. Finishing is festival-ready for openings at Venice, Cannes and the David di Donatello cycle.

Scheduling a feature across Italy is its own craft. A single shoot may block weeks at Cinecittà, then move the unit to Tuscany, Sicily and the Amalfi Coast. We build the shooting calendar around cast holds, seasonal light, and Soprintendenza access windows. Long studio runs are sequenced against short location bursts. That keeps a multi-month schedule efficient, so each travel day earns the pages it costs the budget.

We field full department crews for the whole feature. Cinematography, lighting, grip, sound, art, costume and locations are staffed from our Italian network. Heads of department come with global feature credits and work under CCNL Cinema e Audiovisivo terms. We layer in second units for action, stunt and aerial plates when the script needs them. INPS and INAIL registration is handled for every crew member we engage.
